    Job Description

    People and Culture Advisor

    Job Purpose

    The People and Culture Advisor provides comprehensive, evidence-based advice on all People and Culture matters in line with best practice and employment law and supports the People and Culture Manager to deliver the people-related aspects of the organisational strategy.

    Key Tasks

    Operational

    • Advise on employee relations issues and provide direction, coaching and guidance to line managers, employees and the HR Services and People and Culture teams to ensure consistency and fairness in handling of ER matters.
    • Lead the sickness monitoring and management process, including escalating triggers to line managers; providing support, advice and guidance to managers; correspondence (including invite and outcome letters) and note taking.
    • Support recruitment of staff and volunteers across the organisation, providing advice and guidance to line managers and the HR Services team to maximise effectiveness and efficiency, and achieve our FREDIE goals.
    • Deliver training and coaching on all aspects of HR to line managers and the HR Services team.
    • Working with the Head of People and Culture to contribute to and support the delivery of HR projects to develop a great workforce and volunteering experience, ensure a high-quality support service is achieved and support future development.
    • Working with the People and Culture Manager to ensure the HR Services and People and Culture functions are utilising technology to work smarter and more efficiently, and to manage the HR software and provide support to the administrators when necessary.
    • Produce and analyse reports and provide feedback to the People and Culture Manager on sickness, absence, training, recruitment and turnover/retention.
    • Support and promote performance development: enable effective probation and appraisal processes; identify training and development needs blending formal company training with employee driven learning; utilise mentoring and coaching opportunities where appropriate; and champion the Learning Management System.

    Strategic

    • Supporting Head of People and Culture to shape and deliver the People Strategy.

    Regulatory

    • Monitor, review and update all HR policies and ensure these are in line with current legislation.
    • Support the People and Culture Manager to ensure the organisation is GDPR compliant and up to date with employment legislation changes.
    • Work with the Health and Safety team to ensure the correct procedures are followed, risk assessments completed when needed and advise the H&S team on any HR legal requirements.
    • Support the HR Services team in maintaining compliance with CQC safer recruitment regulations.

    The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

    Key results/objectives/measures of success

    • Ongoing sickness monitoring (updated weekly) and absence meetings completed when triggered.
    • Advice provided to line managers in a timely manner on HR issues.
    • Line Manager HR training delivered every month.
    • All HR case work related correspondence and meetings completed within time frames specified in relevant policies.

    Hours: 22.5 Hours
