    Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist in Integrated Stroke Therapy

    Job Summary:

    An exciting opportunity is available to join our experienced team of specialist physiotherapists in the Integrated Stroke Therapy Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be part of a large, busy acute and rehabilitation stroke service located in the Primary Stroke Centre.

    Main Duties of the Job:

    • Provide specialist complex clinical assessments and physiotherapy treatment
    • Manage clinical caseload including patients with highly complex needs
    • Supervise and support band 5 therapists
    • Ensure timely discharge plans

    Job Responsibilities:

    Develop clinical skills through evidence-based treatments and in-service training. Mentor and support junior staff and have an active role in service review and development.

    The Trust prioritizes safeguarding and welfare promotion for all patients.

    Education & Qualifications

    Essential

    • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
    • State Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
    • Evidence of continual professional development

    Knowledge

    Essential

    • Current best practice in physical and psychological interventions in Stroke and neurological conditions
    • Standardized assessments and therapy outcome measures
    • Computer literacy and knowledge of clinical governance
    • Professional practice and new research

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist
    • Working with complex conditions and individuals with Long Term Health Conditions
    • Supporting junior staff and post-registration experience in stroke setting

    • Ability to analyze professional standards
    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work autonomously, under pressure, and reflect on performance
    • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills
    • Positive attitude towards people with disability

    Desirable

    • Presentation and training skills
