    Technical Analyst - Mercer UK Wealth - London - April 2023 Start

    Mercer is currently looking to grow it's technical support team by appointing talented and ambitious analysts in an exciting, revenue generating, and high profile role. This is an opportunity to join an established centre of excellence, specialising in a wide range of retirement solutions, providing technical expertise and support to our UK actuarial team. We are looking for strong team players with excellent numerical, communication and business acumen skills, with a desire to learn and expand their skills into new areas.

    The Programme

    Mercer is seeking to hire the best talent to join our analyst development programme. The roles will be in ourWealth business, with the immediate focus being the delivery of GMP Equalisation projects (under the Mercer GMP proposition). Work on these projects can incorporate or lead onto being involved in wider activities such as de-risking and financial strategy projects for our clients.

    The programme is designed to provide you with a fast track route to being involved in complex and technical client projects, delivering work as part of a wider client team.. It's an intense programme, aimed at developing your technical skills.

    What can you expect?

    You will work as part of a team supporting senior actuaries and consultants, primarily providing input on projects being carried out for defined benefit pension scheme trustees and corporate sponsors in areas such as GMP, risk management and more. You will help to develop and deliver customised advice and solutions to clients. The world of retirement saving is changing and Mercer is developing innovative solutions for our clients and their employees, including supporting them on the journey to their end game.     The role is open to graduates and those in their early years of being within the DB pension industry and will be based in our London office.     What you need to have:

    • You will have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 degree or be on track to achieve this. If your degree discipline is not mathematics-based, you should have a minimum of a grade A mathematics at A level (or equivalent).
    • We will also consider your application if you are a non-graduate with a minimum of 2 years' equivalent industry experience.
    • Legal authorisation to work in the UK on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
    • To be available to start a new role on 1st April 2023.
