GE's Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

ABOUT THE ROLE
To produce accurate and up-to-date cost estimates and analysis for the Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR) product lines. This will be undertaken for a standard range of machines, special/customised machines including sub-assemblies and factory service work.

Job Description

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Developing the cost estimate working with internal multi-functional teams.
Work with the supply chain directly and interfacing with Sourcing.
Interrogate SAP for actual manufacturing hours, analysing routings, standards, and validating with the Manufacturing Readiness team.
Assessing tooling requirements with the Manufacturing Readiness team.
Partner with Design Engineering for hours evaluation/scope validation.
Monitor and update the standard cost database.
Monitor and investigate cost variance between tender estimates and project actual cost.
Cost tracking for key product lines.
Create, maintain, and update cost templates for all current product lines and special products.
Partner with Application Engineering, Sales and Leadership for scope clarity and planning.
Support cost reviews/audits.
Develop cost configurators and support LEAN initiatives for continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education in relevant Engineering qualification or previous experience in an Engineering business.
Experience with rotating machines.
Knowledge of estimating products (analysing and presenting product cost data)
Prior background in creating cost data for products.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to work in a cross-functional and global team environment.
