    About the role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an associate lecturer to support a range of teaching in the Prosthetic & Orthotic Degree Apprenticeship and Technician Programmes. We are looking for a Prosthetist/Orthotist with considerable experience and an interest in teaching and education and providing the highest quality learner experience.

    Principal accountabilities

    May include a range of the following and other duties, according to business requirements:

    • Contributing to recruitment, marketing and other activity
    • Formal scheduled delivery of Teaching, Lectures or Workshops
    • Preparation of teaching materials required in the delivery of the above
    • Preparation of Reading Lists and other content
    • Contribution to assessment and teaching design as appropriate
    • Marking, moderation and electronic submission of marks as required
    • Responsibility for tutorials and supporting apprentice activity
    • Student and practice educator support and placement related activity
    • Independent Studies supervision
    • Attendance at the following Boards/Meetings, where it is appropriate; development / training meetings and events; Probation and Development Review; Programme Committees and Subject/Team Meetings; Any relevant meetings associated with internal and/or external periodic scrutiny such as QAA, OFSTED etc; College Research Committee; College Research Ethics Committee; Assessment Boards
    • To comply with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and University documentation

    Person specification Qualifications

    • A degree or equivalent qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent experience
    • HCPC registered

    Experience

    • Experience of working in the Prosthetic and Orthotic industry

    Skills, knowledge & abilities

    • Ability to teach at the appropriate level
    • Ability to develop learning materials
    • Ability to relate theory to practice
    • Ability to work to deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Business requirements

    • Ability to work flexibly.
    • Ability to work remotely and online or multi-site as needed.

    • Experience of teaching students in an HE context or similar
