    Calibration Technician - Cambridge, United Kingdom - CBRE

    Description

    The primary responsibility before the completion of the client site is to act as a liaison between the main contractor and other specialized contractors, providing practical expertise in calibration and instrumentation. This will involve assisting the client in utilizing information from the main contractor to create documentation such as instrument lists, SOPs, maintenance documents, and other calibration-related paperwork.

    After the completion of the Client Campus, the daily tasks will include delivering services to the client based on established procedures. This includes ensuring critical test equipment is calibrated, coordinating with third-party suppliers, selecting appropriate equipment for field calibrations, and maximizing system availability through efficient maintenance scheduling.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provision of a comprehensive Control and Instrumentation service for the entire site.
    • Development of site calibration procedures and maintenance plans.
    • Defining equipment tolerances for plant equipment.
    • Identifying necessary test equipment and calibration workspace requirements.
    • Maximizing availability of equipment through planned maintenance and quick response to faults.
    • Providing technical support for projects and commissioning activities.
    • Ensuring all maintenance work complies with the CMMS.
    • Suggesting system improvements to enhance efficiency.
    • Managing planned preventative and client-requested calibrations.
    • Conducting first-line diagnostics and remedial work on field instruments.
    • Identifying spare parts requirements and managing stock.
    • Coordinating the sending of test equipment to third-party suppliers.
    • Ensuring test and measurement equipment suitability and maintenance.
    • Handling Permits to Work and investigations.
    • Providing support across teams as needed.
    • Ensuring timely completion of all Work Orders.

    Person Specification:

    • Completion of a formal Calibration and Instrumentation Bias Apprenticeship.
    • HNC/HND Level in a relevant Engineering field.
    • cGXP Training.
    • Experience in Calibration Maintenance within regulated industries such as Pharmaceutical or Food processing.
    • Proficiency in Writing Calibration Procedures.
