    Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis (for rapid insights), in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-long read lengths.

    The team includes over 30 engineers, with core strengths in mechanical, fluidic, electronic, firmware, and production engineering.

    This group is responsible for the design of instruments, consumables and functional packaging as well as novel manufacturing systems from concept through to automated production and a true 360 degree role.

    We are seeking a Senior Engineer with a mechanical or development engineering focus to join our New Products R&D team.

    You will be a creative individual, with the ability and passion to break down meaningful problems and provide elegant, validated design solutions.

    detailing assumptions, calculations, analysis, results and conclusions in technical reports to guide product development.
    # Designing and developing new product concepts including system level evaluation through to detailed calculation, design, testing and analysis.
    # Engineering or Physics degree (or equivalent)
    ~ Experience in precision, high tech or medical device engineering roles, with responsibility for new product technical development
    ~ Test and development principles, including accuracy, precision, reliability and validity.
    ~3D CAD design through to manufacture of prototypes.
    ~ Knowledge of fluid dynamics and / or injection moulding/polymer technologies is helpful.
