- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for casting materials, including but not limited to ferrous and non-ferrous castings.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new casting suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of capabilities, capacities, and quality assurance processes.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and quality assurance teams, to align procurement activities with project requirements and timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the casting supply chain, leveraging industry best practices and innovative solutions to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
- Previous experience in Procurement with a focus on casting materials within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
- Proven track record of sourcing and procuring casting components, including experience with supplier identification, qualification, and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of casting processes, materials, and specifications, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Pragmatic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and achieving operational improvement.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) desirable.
