- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw and finished materials to fulfill the company's material requirements
- Cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency
- Analyze costs, engage in price negotiations, and introduce cost-saving initiatives to enhance profitability
- Oversee supplier contracts, encompassing terms, conditions, and compliance, in alignment with company policies and goals
- Continually assess and refine the supply chain to boost efficiency and reduce risks
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders like operations and inventory management to guarantee smooth procurement processes
- Identify potential supply chain risks and devise effective mitigation strategies
- Produce reports and offer insights on procurement operations, performance metrics, and cost evaluations
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a similar capacity
- Effective negotiation abilities and adeptness in establishing and nurturing supplier relationships
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel proficiency is crucial
- Background in a manufacturing business environment is indispensable
- Immediate availability or no more than a 2-week notice period for starting
- The capability to commit to the full 6-month duration

Are you a seasoned Buyer or Senior Buyer with experience in Purchasing in manufacturing settings? Our client, a well-established manufacturing SME in the process of expanding their Purchasing team, is seeking a dedicated Senior Buyer (Temporary) to join them for a 6-month FTC that may extend or become permanent. This role, offering a salary of up to £50,000, presents an exciting opportunity for someone available immediately or at short notice, to oversee the procurement of raw and component materials, establish and nurture relationships with both new and existing suppliers, and monitor stock levels.
This position involves hands-on operational Buying tasks with a hint of strategic supplier identification and onboarding.
