    Beddoe Court is a new Nursing Home that is registered for Mental Health Nursing. The service will provide specialist, highly skilled nursing care for individuals with long & enduring mental health needs. The home itself will offer a bespoke environment which means clients will live in an environment that suits their needs whilst supporting them to move on in their journey in the best way we can support them to do so.

    The nursing home is a 28 bedded mixed sex, mental health rehabilitation unit, located in the community of South Warwickshire. It offers assessment and intervention services for people who have a severe and enduring mental health condition. The pathway would mainly look at those clients who are looking to step down from acute of locked rehab care and support them in whatever enables our clients to move on in their recovery.

    Our model of care is focused around stabilisation, supporting all journeys and ultimately getting clients to their achievable best. We want to offer clients with long and enduring mental illness the chance to live the most fulfilled life to their potential and work with what is most important to them. This could be living independently, residential or living with carers. We will tailor their journeys to what means the most to them, at the same time making their time placed with as fulfilling as possible.

    You will work as part of an MDT including MH Nursing, Physical Health monitoring, Occupational therapist, social care and psychology. Our philosophy is to help our clients with what matters of effects their lost most to them.

    The home will become a learning culture, giving all staff opportunities if they want to take them to develop their careers with us across. As a team we will look to explore other aspects of their life. As we understand that our clients may be unable to live independently but we are willing to understand that if we can resolve some main issues in their life it would be a stepping stone to a more fulfilled life. Ensuring our clients have the skills to make their next step in their journey such as ADL's, cleaning, cooking, shopping & bills. Whilst also focus on the physical health helping our clients understand how this can affect their mental health And building links to local resources where needed.

    As a care home and staffing team we will build and deliver strong links to college, travel, voluntary and community sectors. The MDT would consider all aspects of recovery such as ADL's, cleaning, cooking, shopping & bills, all crucial for the their recovery. Build strong links to physical health and links to gym if people wish to participate. Introducing new hobbies and interests into people's lives is key personal growth.

    We want to create an environment that's welcoming for family & friends as we recognise this is pivotal to everyone's recovery. Clients will have bespoke care planning that will regularly evaluated, clients will be offered the chance to complete own care plans, whilst also recognising this might not be suited to everyone; in these cases alternative engagement will be devised through MDT.

    The post holder will have an element of flexibility regarding work hours subject to conversation manager, and will be responsible for the clinical assessment, development, provision, and evaluation of effective occupational therapy within this rehabilitation setting. The post will also involve group work, contribution to referral assessments, a contribution to the day to day running of the unit and the therapeutic environment, including the supervision of other staff.

    There will be an element of working with other professionals including NHS, service users, rehabilitation and community multidisciplinary colleagues all dependant on our client's care.

    Main duties of the job

    • Plan, develop and evaluate complex packages of care.
    • To contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic environment within the nursing setting.
    • To provide professional leadership, supervision, and guidance to identified junior staff.
    • To be responsible for managing high standards of clinical care and maintaining service delivery based on sound clinical and professional judgement.
    • To have a detailed working knowledge of key partnership services and organisations (i.e. voluntary sector, social services, housing), including their eligibility criteria and access procedures, in order to be able to appropriately sign post or refer on.
    • To ensure effective communication and working relationships with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and other key partners.
    • To deputise for the senior staff when required.
    • Provide a learning environment and assessment of practice where required/appropriate for students of all disciplines.
    • Be willing to develop your own skills as well as assist your colleagues through supervision.
    • Individualised care planning
    • Liaison within MDT and the wider teams outside of our own
    • Administer medication and have good working knowledge of medication administered.
    • Contribute to all aspects of care
    • Be able to use a wide variety of assessment tools
    • Have good communication skills
    • NMC registered
    • Demonstrate good experience working in Mental Health
    • Good working knowledge of the Mental Health and relevant frameworks including DOLS

    About us

    Beddoe Court is a new provision within the Mental Health portfolio in Nursing care. Being a new service, we want to deliver bespoke high level of care to the clients placed with us.
