    Job Description

    Solutions Engineer – Derby hybrid - £40,000 - £60,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    Locke & McCloud are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our client, The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing transformative technical solutions for clients within a fast-growing MSP.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • the sales process by defining and validating technical solutions, engaging with clients, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
    • in the research and development of new technologies, products, and approaches under the guidance of our Chief Technology Officer.
    • various ad-hoc activities such as consulting engagements, proof of concept exercises, and disaster recovery planning.
    • with clients to understand their technical requirements and providing suitable solutions.
    • tools such as Office, Azure, and Excel to develop and implement effective technical solutions.
    • multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional organizational skills.
    • excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and issues promptly.
    • strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
    • technical solutions effectively to clients.

    To be considered for this role, you should have:

    • experience in a Solutions Engineer or similar role is preferred.
    • with Microsoft 365, MS Azure, Watchguard, Mimecast, Datto/Kaseya, and CIS Controls (or other recognized Cyber Frameworks) is a plus.
    • in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical jargon into plain English.
    • organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction.
    • to work independently as well as part of a larger project team.
    • to travel as required.

    This role requires not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of business operations. The ideal candidate will bring a security-first approach to all engagements, prioritize workload effectively, and be open to new ideas and approaches. Experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments and dealing with small to medium-sized businesses is desirable.
