Description
The candidate will complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed learning scheme, particularly in English and maths.
The role would be perfect for any candidate looking to develop their classroom practice and/or considering a career in teaching. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, assessing and planning learning for students, encouraging them to develop and achieve. Your duties will include contributing towards learning plans, providing verbal and written feedback, managing behaviour as well as promoting inclusion within the learning environment.
Extra-curricular opportunity is a vital part of our ethos and we will expect all of our students to get involved in at least one club or activity. There will be a huge number of opportunities ranging from competitive sports teams to drama and musical performances. Our ideal candidate will be interested in supporting the school to maximise these opportunities for students.
In the first year, the school will open to 187 students and this will rise to 1, students and an additional resource base of 35 students when full. In the early years, we are looking for staff who are willing to be flexible to support the needs of students, and other stakeholders, and to meet the operational needs of the school. This will provide excellent opportunities for staff to develop new skills and gain experience in a variety of areas, including supported study, the electives (extra-curricular) programme and home visits to support students struggling to engage with school.
