    Senior Clinical Psychologist

    We wish to recruit an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the Older Adult Pathway in Northumberland.

    The person appointed will be working across the Community Treatment Team and the Northumberland Memory Service.

    As part of the Community Treatment Team the person appointed will be providing psychological assessment, formulation and treatment for older adult clients and families experiencing a variety of complex mental health difficulties.

    In addition, they will provide supervision and scaffolding to members of the Community Treatment Team.

    In addition, the person appointed will also provide neuropsychological assessments of cognitive functioning as part of the Community Treatment Team to inform formulations and care plans.

    The post provides substantial scope and opportunities for developing special interests in particular psychological approaches, teaching/training, clinical supervision, research, as well as involvement in service development.

    The Psychology Network is friendly and supportive and is embedded within a thriving network of clinicians providing services to Older Adults in Northumberland.

    There is also a very active local FPOP branch.

    Additionally, we have close links with the Newcastle upon Tyne and Teesside Doctorate training courses and regularly have Trainees on placement as well as contributing to the course teaching.

    Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and Neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the HCPC and British Psychological Society.

    Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups relevant to the client group

    Working with complex mental health problems in older people as part of a community treatment team
