Market Data Associate to join our Asset Management (AM) COO team, which has wide-ranging accountability, ensuring operational control of investment activities, supporting the Group and AM governance framework, and delivery of investment reporting.

Team / Role Context


Asset Management are seeking a talented Market Data Associate to join their team, specialising in Market Data management within Asset Management, establish a golden source for Market Data enabling shared access across the Phoenix Group.

Realising efficiencies, cost savings, optimise spend and use of market data.


This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in market data to be part of a new and growing capability in the highly specialised area of Asset Management.

This is an evolving team as the function integrates within the Phoenix Group.


The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Business analysis able to interpret and translate business requirements to business functions. Able to challenge and recommend suitable alternatives.
  • Assist the Market Data Manager in understanding data consumption and align to contract usage rights across the Phoenix Group.
  • Support contract renewals, working closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and harmonise where needed.
  • SME support to consolidate & distribute market data feeds via strategic data warehouse.
  • Implement finance reporting & budget management oversight by partnering with Business Management and Finance.
  • Provide Market Data BAU Support.
  • Assist in defining the market data Roadmap.
  • Oversight of activities for Managed Services for Inventory Management.
  • Help setup and facilitate the market data Steering forums and all communications regarding market data.
  • Identify and manage risks, including escalation where required.
  • Manage dependencies and conflict resolution.

What we're Looking For

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of Market Data Management principles, policies within a Financial Services environment
  • Demand Management and understanding business requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and individuals to deliver to a high standard
  • Ability to work to tight timescales within a high energy team and fast changing environment
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and teams
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Understanding of market data categories, key providers, and technology solutions
  • Understanding of complex regulatory environments
  • Knowledge and experience establishing operating procedures for Market Data Management

Desirable

  • Project management skills
  • Understanding of the regulatory considerations e.g. EMIR / TCF / Conduct of Business Rules
  • Experience in the Asset Management industry
  • Experience with managed services providers will be an advantage
  • Certified FISD FIA
