Environment Manager
We are recruiting for an Environment Manager on a permanent basis.
This role is responsible for providing professional and technical support in the assurance of achieving compliance with environmental minimum requirements and construction is in accordancewith organisational and sponsor requirements and policies, environmental commitments, environmental law, and regulations.
As an Environment Manager, you will need to have/be:
- Complex problem-solving skills
- ability to identify complex problems. Review, analyse and interpret a wide range of data and evaluate options and implement solutions to be consistent with other working. Also, ability can be measured as part of the assessmentprocess.
- Technical Leadership
- Specialist technical support and leadership on all disciplinespecific scientific, technical and environmental principles but, knowing when to seek further guidance from Subject Matter Expert or others.
- Data management
- Applies principles and methods that ensure effective information management, modelling and data security, basic understanding of data creation and visualisation, working under supervision of line manager or in liaison with relevant SubjectMatter Expert
- Applicable UK environmental law and other relevant construction (including CDM) regulations.
- Understanding of the relevant Regulatory/Legislative Framework
- Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution or the equivalent experience
- Experience of managing the environmental compliance of construction, engineering, and environmental activities on complex projects.
- Experience of assuring construction contractors and their compliance with client and regulatory standards on large/complex major projects/programmes
- Experience of driving innovation and best practice on complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience of managing competing project, engineering, and environmental demands, with cost and schedule implications

Role of Environment Manager:
- To be responsible for supporting technical assurance through production, checking and submission of assurance evidence for technical stage gates, assuring the construction of the assets comply with the technical and sponsor requirements, environmental commitments,environmental law and regulations;
- To be responsible for supporting the Senior Environment Managers in organising, coordinating and undertaking the environment element of risk based technical assurance of the works performed and assured by the Integrated Project Teams

by assuring that contractor construction works are undertaken in accordance with the Environmental Minimum Requirements
