    About Overcast HQ

    Overcast HQ has created Overcast Max which is an enterprise video management platform. Designed from scratch to be cloud-native, it's micro-services and serverless architecture means it has the most modern architecture among its peers and is optimized for AWS cloud deployment and use of AWS services through a full-featured Restless API. It supports all known video file formats including many specialist bodycam and CCTV formats used by police and security forces. It is designed to be simple to use through a React frontend thus fulfilling Overcast's mission to make managing video as easy as managing Word documents.

    After significant growth in 2023, Overcast is now looking to expand its development team and is looking for a full-stack developer.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    The Full-stack developer will report to the CTO and be responsible for the Overcast Max platform back-end and front-end.

    Qualifications

    The person will need to display the following:

    Skilled in all aspects of software project life cycle including feasibility, requirements, design, implementation, integration, test, and deployment using Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Git, Jira, Confluence).

    3 years of experience designing, developing, and managing microservices containerized in AWS environments

    2 years of experience designing and managing databases and implementing software delivery processes

    Knowledge required:

    Python, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AWS Services

    Nice to have:

    Experience in video workflows in enterprise or media environments including Media Asset Management

    Experience in designing or supporting Digital Asset Management solutions

    Experience with other systems and technical solutions used in media workflows including transcoding, CDN, or video edit solutions.

    Experience in subscription management solutions

    Excellent communication and team collaboration skills are required.

    Flexibility is required.

    Ability to effectively manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities and meet deadlines that are important to project success.

    Effective interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with all levels of personnel with the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.

    Experience working in a small development team.

    Experience conducting remote support of customers through Google Meet, Zoom, MS Teams, and other collaboration software.
