- Managing incoming and outgoing clinical correspondence;
- Extracting information from clinical documents that require coding;
- Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow-up appointments;
- Completing basic (non-opinion) forms, and core elements of some forms, for the GP to approve and sign;
- Improving patient flow;
- Supporting patient experience by reiterating information from the GP;
- Assisting with practice tasks;
- Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies arranging admission;
- Supporting the prescription clerk team.
- Completing simple clinical observations /investigations as directed locally, such as dipstick urine, taking blood pressure, ECG, phlebotomy. About the Candidate

About the Role Colne Valley Primary Care Network has a fantastic opportunity for a GP assistant (GPA) to join our team on a full-time basis for hours per week, to include working extended access evening on Wednesday until 8pm. The GPA position is a support role, covering administrative tasks and, if appropriate, some basic clinical duties, to assist the GPs, enabling them to make the best use of consultation time. The post-holder will form part of our multi-disciplinary, primary-care team and contribute to the smooth running of the surgery. The Colne Valley Primary Care Network is a collaboration of six GP practices serving approximately 54,000 patients, from the Kelvedon, Finchingfield, Halstead, Earls Colne, Coggeshall, and Hedingham areas.
