We are looking for an experienced and team minded construction estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects in a fast paced environment.

The company operates predominantly in the refit and refurbishment of existing buildings.

This means the estimation process requires the estimator to consider how project delivery can be affected by operating in live environments and the constraints of existing buildings.

The estimator will need to be forward thinking, good at gathering information and analysing tender stage drawings to develop credible and competitive tenders.

They must also be passionate about what they do, diligent and thorough.

They will have the inter-personal skills to managing relationships with within the commercial and operations team, such as specialist electrical and mechanical estimators to ensure the tender submissions cover all aspects of the design and with a programme that is deliverable.

This will involve developing relationships with subcontractors to ensure timely submission of supporting quotes, and identifying new sub-contractors for the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Understand the project/program and its requirements provide pre tender overview for sign off
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
  • Gather firsthand information from sites, warehouses on site visits.
  • Provide support and liaising for mechanical and electrical estimation.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc.
  • Work with the rest of the commercial team to grow and develop the current subcontractor database.
  • Use software for providing measured bills and pricing of items within tender packages, data analysis.
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors for all tenders.
  • Perform risk analysis prior to submission of any large value tenders.
  • Create and submit estimate reports, tender submissions or bids to SLT/Commercial team.
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
