    Neonatal Nurse Educator - Birmingham, United Kingdom - Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust

    We have an exciting new role for a midwife to join our Professional Practice Team as a Clinical Midwife Educator with a focus on Newly Qualified Midwives.


    This role is primarily to support newly qualified midwives (NQMs) throughout their preceptorship period with skills acquisition and to facilitate competence and confidence building.

    Also to support new staff to the Trust and rotational staff who are new to areas supporting safe and effective care.

    This post offers flexible hours up to full time

    Applicants must be an NMC registered midwife with at least 1 years experience as a band 6.


    Facilitatingclinical skills sessions,providingmentorship/support for completion of competencies, andprovidingclinical support to staff on varied shift patternsas part of a 24/7 service asa bleepholder.

    NMC registration
    One year experience as a band 6
    Evidence of continuing professional development
    Teaching and/or assessing qualification
    Experience of teaching clinical skills and completing competency assessments
    Teaching skills
    Computer literate, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel
    Ability to negotiate, persuade, influence, motivate, and gain the respect of other healthcare professionals
    Evidence of teaching in a variety of settings using a range of different education and learning strategies
    Audit/Risk Management/Research experience
