    Able to work independently and be flexible to adapt to the changing service demands meeting any set deadlines.

    The role is embedded in the ward teams by supporting our nursing/medical and pharmacy teams to resolve any medicines management issues.


    You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and accurate ward-based pharmacy service for hospital inpatients by liaising closely with pharmacists, nursing and medical staff on wards.

    This role will help you to develop Medicines Optimisation and Patient Counselling skills.

    You will also be required to support the Inpatient pharmacy service as an ACPT weekly on a rostered basis. Therefore, a systematic and flexible approach to working is an essential requirement.

    This will include delivering pharmacy services to a range of patients with complex Surgical, Oncology and Haematology conditions, supporting and training junior staff.

    Candidates should have demonstrable competencies in hospital clinical pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills and commitment to pharmaceutical care. GPhC accredited integrated, or linked, knowledge and competence qualification(s) that allow registration in the UK as a pharmacy technician
    Completion if the accreditied checking pharmacy technician scheme (ACPT)

    London Pharmacy Education and Training- Technician Self Development Programme- Stage 2 or equivalent

    Have worked in Pharmacy dispensary
    Have worked in a Hospital pharmacy dispensary
    Previous experience of delivering induction and competency based training
    Previous experience of delivering induction and competency based training
    Previous evaluated experience of participation in project and audit work

    Demonstrated experience of ability to appraise staff and set performance objectives
    Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and organise competency based training assessment
    Demonstrated ability to communicate more complex and sensitive information effectively using clear written and spoken English to overcome barriers to understanding
    Demonstrated IT skills including -email, -word processing, -spreadsheets, -accurate data entry
    Demonstrated effective customer service skills
    Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the context of hospital pharmacy and the NHS
    Demonstrated ability to manage performance
    Familiar in using the following computer system, - EPIC
