- Act as a strategic advisor for the design of significant technology transformation initiatives covering Business Transformation Programs, Cloud, Data, Cyber, Security, Software, and Infrastructure.
- Engage in critical thinking and lead discussions with key business stakeholders and the technology community.
- Carry out technology assurance and governance to ensure alignment with architecture policy and practices.
- Maximize technology alignment and leverage, establish common solutions, and optimize skills across QBE to drive cost efficiencies.
- Contribute to developing strategies, principles, policies, and roadmaps for assigned domains in line with agreed timelines and QBE priorities.
- Utilize standardized tools and methods to document enterprise architecture ensuring consistency within the team.
- Promote and integrate architecture practices and governance efficiently.
- Research emerging architecture and technology trends.
- Support technology decision-making activities.
- Deliver foundational enterprise solution architectures through strategic projects.
- Ensure Solution Architects are aligned with the strategic direction of their projects.
- Influence the initial stages of projects to define the project's architecture vision in line with the strategic direction.
- Challenge business requirements and solution architectures when necessary to achieve the best outcome for QBE considering both short- and long-term needs.
- Prior experience as a solution architect or enterprise architect.
- In-depth knowledge of large-scale financial data architecture programs and advancing the maturity of the architecture function.
- Understanding of finance integration with other processes and components.
- Experience in insurance and reinsurance business, particularly with finance aspects.
- Experience in Management Information and Enterprise Information Integration in a corporate setting.
- Understanding of data architecture elements and optimal information flows across the business.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver architecture in a fast-paced, large-scale environment.
- Proven expertise in problem analysis and design techniques.
- Capability to identify and quantify key areas of risk or complexity.
- Basic understanding of the interaction of hardware, network, and software components required for complex system delivery.
- Experience working with third-party service suppliers and outsource providers.
- Strong analysis, evaluation, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Proficient in managing impacts of parallel architecture programs to minimize risks.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences effectively.

The Opportunity
QBE Europe is looking to hire an Enterprise Architect to join their established and expanding team. In this role, you will provide technology direction to various stakeholders such as suppliers, IT, and QBE business by developing strategies, roadmaps, standards, and project options. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the delivery of global enterprise programs. Previous experience in the Finance Domain is preferable.
