- Conducting thorough market research to identify and qualify the best suppliers for business needs.
- Initiate contact with potential suppliers, gather relevant information, and negotiate optimal pricing and lead times.
- Effectively source and plan quotation responses in collaboration with the Sales team, ensuring customer requirements are met.
- Compile, input, and review purchasing data within ERP and other systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain a well-organized database of approved suppliers and cultivate strong, commercially beneficial supplier relationships.
- Monitor and report on product performance and purchasing activity, providing valuable insights for strategic decision making.
- Provide hands-on mentorship to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team
- Provide necessary support to other functions within the Procurement department as required.

Our client is a leading engineering business, who as a result of some internal changes, need to appoint an ambitious sourcing specialist to their team.
In this leadership position, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing the firms sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and mentoring junior team members. You'll report directly to the Procurement Director and will work collaboratively within the broader Operational departments.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;
It is expected that you shall have proven experience in a sourcing role, with an in-depth knowledge of procurement processes, whole life costing, lead times, and repair cycles. An ability to understand technical drawings would be advantageous, as would project management skills.
