Position Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant for Students with Special Educational Needs, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with a range of SEN requirements.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure that all students receive the necessary support to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide onetoone or small group support to students with SEN, both in the classroom and in specialised support settings.
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans and behaviour management strategies.
Support students in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials to meet their needs.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs, where required, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable, although not essential.
A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of individuals with diverse needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Flexibility, patience, and resilience in dealing with the challenges associated with SEN support.
Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, etc.) would be advantageous but not essential.
A commitment to upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and protection of vulnerable individuals.
