A genuinely exciting opportunity to be involved right from the start of this newly formed subsidiary, the MARTIN Field Service General Maintenance Fitter will be part of an independent Field Service maintenance team working from the MARTIN Renewables Solutions head office in Wardle, Cheshire. This is a truly progressive role and an opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry.

Established in Wardle, Martin Renewables Solutions Ltd (MRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin GmbH ) Germany. Martin GmbH services the energy-from-waste (EfW) industry by providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Spare parts, engineering, design, consulting, modernisation, planning and general contracting services. In addition, it offers products for boiler systems as well as flue gas treatment (LAB), plant modernization, equipment overhaul, repair & maintenance services. Martin has been serving the UK market for over 40 years and MRS will expand its support with its local presence.
This is a highly visible position for an enthusiastic semi-skilled maintenance fitter who has the desire to join a specialist team and expand their knowledge base in the environmental field of EfW and the MARTIN Group detailed product line.
Above anything, we are looking for someone who will be committed and adhere to the company philosophy and is open to learning new skills and adopt new approaches.
More about the opportunity
You will come from a Maintenance / Engineering discipline (ideally mechanical, fabrication, general welding, manufacturing engineering) and benefit from being trained over the course of approx. 12 – 18 months to become one of our UK field service experts.
As we are a growing team, you must be adaptable and happy to help colleagues across the whole company. A 'hands-on deck' approach will be required. Rest assured there are business plans to grow the team further to ensure we deliver to the customer at the highest possible standards; we have a reputation to maintain. About the job itself
A strong customer-facing role, your main responsibility will be to provide a high-level service to established plants mainly across the UK, once competent.
You will start off by attending sites and issuing our equipment out and carrying out general labouring activities, followed by learning on-the-job maintenance activities. Over the course of time months) you will become a fully-fledged and competent MARTIN Specialist. Full training given.
General Responsibilities
·Perform plant and component inspections and report all findings (training given)
·Maintain, repair and Service MARTIN system equipment (training given)
·Be responsible for the site tool vans and all contents when under your control / custody
·You will be responsible for issuing our tools and equipment to the wider MARTIN service team when onsite.
·Must be able to travel and be capable of supporting the MARTIN group service teams during regular Energy from Waste Plant overhauls and emergency interventions
·Follow instructions and work procedures
·To work with integrated internal and external MARTIN teams alongside European colleagues
·Involves frequent travelling and/or temporarily residing at customer sites.
·To be able to work internationally for short durations
·Ability and willingness to work some bank holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
·Comply with internal policies on quality standards, housekeeping and Health & Safety.
Person Specification/qualifications
·Whilst not essential, a higher education certification in mechanical, automotive, agricultural or other engineering would be an advantage (eg NVQ, C&G, HNC/HND, BTEC etc)
·Minimum 2 years' mechanical maintenance experience
oDemonstrable understanding of general maintenance mechanical engineering principles
·Energy-from-Waste facilities experience would be advantageous but not essential
·Use of workshop tools, hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
·Basic plate welding skills would be advantageous, training can be given
·Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel extensively across the UK
·Hold a valid Passport with the willingness to travel overseas
·Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn and utilise new software systems
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·A positive, polite attitude and strong interpersonal skills
·physical labour is required
·Strong desire for continued growth and learning
