    Description

    First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 21 primary schools across Devon and West Dorset is seeking to appoint a Director of School Improvement. This exciting position presents a rare opportunity to join our thriving and successful Trust. This role will be based at our Newton Abbot and Exmouth offices (Southwest) with travel across Plymouth, South Devon and Dorset.

    The key purpose of the Director of School Improvement is to:

    • Effect consistent improvement across First Federation Schools

    • Have a strategic overview of School Improvement across the Trust alongside the CEO and Trustees.

    • Raise standards, challenge performance and support improvement and school effectiveness, including compliance with Ofsted, SIAMS and DfE requirements.

    You will support an allocated group of schools, enabling them to grow the capacity to improve themselves and secure the highest standards of learning and achievement for our children. The role will balance Quality Assurance, in some cases overseeing the deployment of a System Leader, and school improvement where you will work side by with school leaders to bring about rapid improvement. The post holder will be accountable for the success of each school through developing a balance between standardisation and a celebration of each school's uniqueness.

    This post holder will line manage the School Improvement team:

  • School Improvement Officers
  • Maths and English Leads
  • Early Years Lead
  • Church Schools Improvement Officer
  • The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher ideally with multi-school leadership experience. You will have a successful track record of senior leadership of learning and teaching at Headteacher level with a strong track record of school-to-school support. You will possess a detailed knowledge of school improvement strategies and be exceptionally skilled in coaching, developing and enabling others.
