    Applications are invited from individuals for an excellent opportunity to become a Disclosure Risk Assessor on a one year fixed term contract within the DBS/Disclosure Team of the Information Security and Governance Department.

    This will involve accessing the Police National Computer, Athena and other local computer systems and making decisions on whether disclosure of relevant information is to be recommended.

    Experience of processing DBS checks using the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) would be an advantage.

    You will also be required to assess information for potential disclosure to employers and/or regulatory/licensing bodies under Common Law Police Disclosure powers.

    An ability to demonstrate sound judgement in analysing and interpreting complex information is required and there is also an element of training and mentoring new staff and auditing their work and providing advice to colleagues both internal to the Team and Force-wide.

    Due to on-going development in working practices, you will need to be flexible and able to adapt to change.

    Good IT skills in Microsoft Office products, are essential as you will be expected to update and maintain documents.

    You will also have an ability to produce high quality disclosure texts, requiring a good use of English language.
    The working hours for this role is Monday to Friday.

    The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to.

    In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated 'Team Zone' location on average one or two days a week, as agreed with the line manager.
