    What skills and experience we're looking for

    If you are ambitious and passionate about playing a centralrole in supporting our students achieve the highest possible standards thenthis is the role for you. You will beworking as a key middle managerin the pastoral team supporting a team of ten tutors.Your role will be to support the behaviour, needs and progress of all studentswithin the year group.

    Roles and responsibilities include:
  • Proactively working with students, parents and staff tomaintain the highest possible standards.
  • Supporting and quality assuring the work of your tutor teamusing appropriate systems, guidance and training to help them to maintainstandards.
  • Working with the Heads of Upper/Lower School andsafeguarding team to keep children safe.
  • Supporting tutors to develop effective strategies withstudents who exhibit repeated behaviours below our expected standards.
  • Closely monitor students and work closely with the Heads ofUpper/Lower School where there are significant concerns about students.
  • Effectively liaise with external agencies as and whenrequired.
  • Securing the highest possible attendance.
    Preference may be given to applicantswho offer subjects where we have vacancies.

    What the school offers its staff

    The Mountbatten School is an 11-16 co-educational, non-denominational school, founded in 1969 by Earl of Burma. The school has a wealth of outstanding features which have been recognised in excellent Ofsted reports and a host of other national awards. The school is recognised for its very high quality teaching and academic achievement combined with strong commitment to student welfare and to assiduous monitoring of each student's progress. Students are exceptionally well-behaved with politeness and common courtesies being highly valued and practised by nearly all of our students.
