    Default job background
    Description

We are seeking a motivated and experience health economist to join the team at the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) within the Biomedical Engineering Theme. The Biomedical Engineering Theme is positioned at the interface between engineering innovations and clinical practice to drive the translation of original research, enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and reach of healthcare technologies and devices. The Theme aims to enable less invasive, more cost-effective, and more equitable healthcare, ultimately realizing currently unavailable procedures and therapies.

Reporting to the BRC Biomedical Engineering Theme co-leads (Professor Anthony Bull and Professor George Hanna) and the Theme Manager (Dr Bohwon Kim), the Health Economist role is a full-time appointment to assess the cost-effectiveness of technologies developed within the Theme, analysing healthcare data and policies, and providing economic insights for projects within the Biomedical Engineering Theme portfolio.

This role is intended to enhance the existing array ofresearch methods employed by the core methodology team of the NIHR HRC. These methods encompass health economics, human factors, stakeholder analysis, clinical pathway mapping, adoption studies, and laboratory validation.
