We currently have a vacancy for a part-time position for a secondment or fixed term for 18 months to be based mainly in the Fetal Cardiology department working across our level 1 sites and attending fetal cardiology network clinics.

Main duties of the job
The CNS role will be across the network which spans across South East England, supporting the women and children seen by the fetal & paediatric cardiology teams at Evelina London and Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals. The successful candidate will work across all of the fetal cardiology sites supported by the Evelina London Children's Hospital and Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals clinical nurse specialist teams. It is an exciting time to join the GSTT trust and develop skills across the spectrum of the cardiology services.
The role of Fetal and Paediatric Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist is a really exciting role with a broad remit. There is great opportunity to be involved in service development, local and national education, also audit and research. Evidence of experience in these areas is preferable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be kind and caring, be an exceptional communicator, a great team player, be a critical problem solver, be able to multitask, and to use basic computer software such as windows, power point, and excel.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as part of the fetal / paediatric cardiology CNS teams supporting patients and their families through pregnancy, new diagnosis, and cardiac intervention. This particular role will be primarily based in the fetal cardiology CNS service with the potential to work across the service if required.
They will act as an expert resource to families and junior staff and will be expected to educate families and staff regarding cardiac conditions.
They will advocate for families and patients when required.
They will provide nurse-led services, as well as supporting patients and families with information regarding their cardiac condition and healthcare needs.
They will liaise with community teams including obstetric teams. community teams, GPs, local hospital teams, palliative care specialist teams, as well as the mutli-disciplinary team colleagues.
