    Description
    This role will drive the design and implementation of the next generation Ingress Gateway control plane and data plane.

    This role will report to the Cloud Platform Technology Lead and will work with our Container Platform Engineering lead, who is our domain technical expert with deep knowledge on Kubernetes technology, systems, and trajectory of innovation.

    For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at our Swindon or London office.

    Collaboratively develop and drive the overall Cloud and Hybrid Service mesh engineering strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and industry best practices.

    Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team, promoting continuous learning and development.
    Oversee the management of a run-time environment of containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and reliability.
    Stay abreast of emerging threats and technologies to proactively address potential risks.
    Design and guide the implementation of resilient and scalable solutions across multiple cloud platforms.
    Experience building and leading large scale distributed systems especially in cloud environments.
    Strong knowledge with network technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, TLS termination and proxies.
    Experience building and designing services using Istio, Gloo technologies.
    Experience and passion for service ownership, building reliable self-healing services.
    Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management, with expertise in Kubernetes across AWS , Azure and Openshift technologies.
