Job description:
Beatson Clark are looking for a multi-skilled apprentice to complete a level 3 mechatronics maintenance apprenticeship.
This role is designed for working towards achieving the skill set of a Mechanical Engineer:
- To maintain and repair equipment relating to plant services, including;
- Compressor house daily monitoring of air compressors, dryers, fitters, air receivers and vacuum pumps
- Water cooling systems, pumps, pipework and heat exchangers, and cooling towers
- Furnace systems including batch chargers and cooling systems
- Recycling plant area conveyors and crushing
- Pipework, general fabrication and welding
- Also to cover mixing shop area conveyors, elevators, mixers and crushers
- Comply with working method operating procedures
- Complete relevant documentation as requested
- Other reasonably requested duties within skill set.
- Work within the Engineering team
- Gain experience of using workshop equipment
- Gain experience of working on plant and equipment breakdowns; preventative maintenance and installations
- In particular, focusing on: furnaces, glass forming process, bottle coating systems, inspection equipment packaging equipment, technical services, and site services
- Abide by Company and departmental rules
- Work to departmental procedures and follow job safety instructions
- Wear PPE as instructed and relevant to job specific hazards
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and management
- Essential to attend College to complete Modern Apprenticeship qualification in Engineering (including NVQ's)
- Undertake other internal and external job specific training
- Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set
Skills required:
- Demonstrate interest in engineering
- An understanding of basic tools and / or working with hand tools (fixing bikes, cars or anything similar)
- Understanding of working safely 'Safety Conscious'
- IT literate
- Excellent time keeping and attendance

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.
After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.
The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.Qualification Requirements:

You will need
both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above on the
Higher Maths paper only
