    Job Description:

    As an Ethical Initiatives and Responsible Sourcing Specialist, you will work closely with the Best Practice Principles (BPP), Responsible Sourcing, and Due Diligence Lead to support the implementation of best practice principles and responsible sourcing policies. You will play a crucial role in establishing processes, policies, and approaches to drive responsible business practices across the diamond value chain.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the BPP Programme, focusing on Environmental, Social and Governance standards for the De Beers value chain.
  • Support the implementation of responsible sourcing policies for diamonds and other metals.
  • Create and deliver bespoke training modules on the BPP Programme.
  • Manage day-to-day activities related to the BPP Programme and audit process.
  • Lead the review of third-party audit reports and advise on ratings of potential infringements.
  • Develop reporting templates and systems for ethical integrity reporting outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, auditors and industry bodies.
  • Provide assistance and respond to queries relating to the BPP Programme, audits, and IT platforms issues.
  • Conduct research on key ethical issues affecting the jewellery supply chain and provide recommendations for decision-making.
  • Support the development of new standards, requirements, or approaches related to the BPP Programme.
  • Assist with the drafting of De Beers Group's Modern Slavery Act statement.
  • Assist with Human Rights workstreams including conducting human rights due diligence.
  • Communicate De Beers Consumer Confidence and Corporate Responsibility strategies.
  • Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of and experience in due diligence requirements for counterparties in relation to reputational and ethical integrity.
  • Previous experience in ethical supply chain programmes, corporate responsibility, human rights due diligence or international relations is advantageous.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with sound knowledge of business principles.
  • Numerate with good presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Responsible Jewellery Council requirements is desirable.
