- Review and understand the scope of works, drawings, and specifications.
- Utilise tools such as Bluebeam or CADmeasure to measure and take off quantities from drawings.
- Produce bills of quantities following applicable methods of measurement.
- Compile supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for tender buying.
- Work from first principles to rate items within bills of quantities.
- Participate in mid-bid, tender review, and adjudication/settlement meetings.
- Attend client meetings, including pre/post contract interviews.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and upskilling across the team.
- Experience in civil engineering or construction management, with exposure to project types such as bulk earthworks, groundworks, roadworks, and RC frames.
- Familiarity with methods of measurement, particularly SMM7.
- Proficiency in electronic measuring tools such as Bluebeam or CADmeasure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Experience using estimating software such as Causeway or similar.
- Numerically minded with a sound commercial acumen.
- Highly organised with excellent time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.
- A problem solver who can anticipate issues and present effective solutions.
