    Job Description

    In this role, you would monitor the public affairs landscape for the members of the group that focusses on renewable and clean energy member interests.

    If you are an excellent communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills and an interest in renewable energy this is an excellent opportunity.

    Working with the External Affairs Director and the Communications Associate, some of the work you do would include:

    • Stay in touch with external contacts and members of the organisation on a regular basis.
    • Prepare written briefs for meetings with Parliament members and industry partners.
    • Write press releases to get the the organisation noticed and talked about, expanding our reach in trade and national press and other media.
    • Play an active role in organising public affairs events.
    • Keep an eye on media coverage of Parliament and the industries we represent, looking out for opportunities and risks for the organisation and its members.
    • Represent the organisation and its members at Parliament and relevant industry gatherings.
    • Coordinate with and oversee the agencies and suppliers who help manage our public affairs program.
    • Collaborate with the Communications team to create interesting thought pieces like reports, blogs, and opinion articles.
    • Keep the external affairs content on the website current and update where needed
    • Work with the marketing, events and membership team on commercial opportunities.

    Your experience:

    • You've worked in a governmental organisation either through work experience or an internship
    • You understand the UK political landscape and understand how Parliament works
    • You have excellent written and oral communication skills
    • You have a portfolio of blogs, essays or publications to showcase your written abilities
    • You posses a relevant degree in Politics, Economics or International Relations, or Marketing
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Interest in renewable energy
    • Experience in writing for a variety of audiences and evidence therefore possess excellent written communication skills
