    Centre for London is London's dedicated think tank. Our research and events explore ways to make London even better. We're fiercely independent and consistently influential. Our vision is a London that's successful and sustainable.

    Role overview

    Centre for London is seeking a new Chief Executive who is passionate about London, cities and public policy to support our committed team and deliver our strategic vision.

    Our vision is to make London a thriving, sustainable, global city, run in the long-term interests of its people and the UK as a whole.

    Your role will be to shape our influencing strategy around the upcoming mayoral and general elections, and secure the financial stability of the organisation.

    Key responsibilities

    • Meeting and sharing ideas with policymakers
    • Fundraising for new projects
    • Acting as a media spokesperson for the centre's reaction to breaking news
    • Chairing panel discussions and appearing at centre events
    • Leading motivational sessions with the team.
    • Lead our fundraising to ensure that the organisation is on a secure and sustainable financial footing

    Experience and skills

    This role would suit an entrepreneurial leader who is passionate about London, cities and public policy, happy with active fundraising, and experienced in influencing change.

    You do not need to be an expert on London or all of the policy issues we work on, but you will need to be intellectually curious, and have an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing a global city like London. You will have the skills to build new connections and relationships as a significant part of the role is to secure funds. You might already have extensive networks across London's communities, or you might have the skills to build this network. Although not essential, you might have held a senior role in a research or policy focused charity or think tank, or you may have been working in a policy related role in the public or business sector.
