    City Academy Whitehawk is a dynamic two-form community primary school.

    After the retirement of our current Premises Manager, an exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and motivated professional to become part of our team.


    This position is a full-time, permanent role with a split shift from 7am to 10.45 am and then 2.45 to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

    Working under the guidance of the Headteacher and the Business Manager, the Premises Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the school site for our children, staff, and visitors.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Being the main keyholder for the school premises, responsible for unlocking and locking up daily and during school holidays when necessary. This may involve late evening lock-ups for school events.
    • Responding to out-of-hours security and fire alarms
    • Maintaining the entire school premises and grounds
    • Monitoring health and safety, conducting tests, and overseeing inspections to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in a timely manner.
    • Performing minor repairs to property, fixtures, fittings, and equipment, including general decorating.
    • Supervising and managing the school cleaning team (which may involve some cleaning duties during absences)
    • Engaging contractors for premises works on-site, liaising with them to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and high-quality work completion.
    • Handling general porterage duties, such as setting up rooms for assemblies, meetings, and events.
    • Receiving and handling deliveries.
    • Participating in staff meetings and appropriate training sessions.
