    Description

    Project Manager (Gloucestershire) – Civils/Water Sector

    Our client is a leading private civil engineering and infrastructure company with 40 years of experience across the UK. They specialize in providing design, construction, and maintenance services in water, transport, built environment, and energy sectors.

    With a workforce of over 800 employees, our client values their people, investing in training and development through a dedicated facility in Walsall.

    The Role:

    The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, adherence to schedule, and optimal performance. This involves collaboration with various teams to guarantee safe project completion while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. The upcoming project is a significant pipelines undertaking entering the ECI Phase in July, with main works starting in early 2025.

    Key Responsibilities:

    General Management

    • Manage project finances and costs effectively
    • Lead projects from design to completion including documentation
    • Review progress and plan ahead
    • Ensure clear scope definition and work packages
    • Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers, and consultants
    • Develop construction schedules and solutions
    • Coordinate site investigations and implement engineering solutions
    • Ensure project plans and risk assessments are in place
    • Maintain detailed records and cost control
    • Prepare estimates and support new tenders

    Health, Safety, and Environmental

    • Set high HS&E standards and ensure compliance
    • Keep HSE documents updated
    • Allocate and provide HSE training for personnel
    • Ensure subcontractors follow procedures
    • Maintain waste management plans and environmental assessments
    • Liaise for regulatory compliance
    • Conduct team training and briefings

    Quality

    • Manage and produce ITP's
    • Ensure QA file maintenance
    • Address technical queries and submit project documentation

    Person Specification:

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Civil and Water sectors, meeting the following criteria:

    • Knowledge of contract conditions, regulations, and management
    • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or equivalent software
    • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
    • CSCS manager's card and SMSTS
    • NEC contract knowledge
    • Strong communication and management skills
    • Problem-solving ability
    • Experience in direct labor management
