    Description

    Gleeds Health & Safety advisory provide a full range of Health & Safety services and advice to a variety of clients across numerous sectors throughout the UK.

    With growing demand for services in the South West of England, we are searching for a CDM Consultant to join our Bristol office as we look to establish a Health & Safety hub in the region.


    You will be based from our Bristol office, and will have significant input on additional support as we grow our Bristol Health & Safety team further.


    You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of surveyors and project managers in the heart of Bristol, from state of the art offices which are home to 100+ Gleeds professionals.

    As a CDM Consultant, you will be responsible for advising clients on health & safety issues relating to a large construction projects, from project initiation to completion.

    You will have a blended role, involving principal designer work, providing crucial health & safety advice throughout construction / project design phase, as well as monitoring and assessing operational construction sites to ensure health & safety standards are maintained.

    Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;
    Acting as Principal Designer on a range of projects;
    Attending regular meetings with the design team, client, principal designer and principal contractor;
    Providing health and safety advice, support and assistance to the project team
    Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client's requirement;
    Managing the client's health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;
    Cooperating with others involved with the project;
    Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;
    Liaising with the project design team regarding pre construction design work and risk mitigation
    Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;
    Preparing bids for services;
    Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; Opportunities to develop and grow your career

    You will have both H&S design experience as well as site monitoring / auditing experience. Experience of delivering services on a live construction site;
    Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills;
    Ability to prepare first class bids for services;
    Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
    NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates/Tech IOSH minimum (will be considered with right amount of experience and other qualifications)
    NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.
