Main duties of the job

Job descriptionJob responsibilities
Management
Ability to motivate staff, delegate appropriately,lead change, deliver against key targets, and contribute to an organisationalculture of continuous improvement.
Line management of clinical administration and MDT to include a full range of activities including performance, annual leave andsickness management. Lead regular team meetings to develop a team strategicfocus on delivering business objectives.
Identify and implement systems to improve the efficiencyand effectiveness of the team, and act as a conduit for collaborative workingacross the organisation .
Identify opportunities to develop and build capacityand resilience within the team.
Act as a role model and demonstrate expert knowledgein conjunction with standards of clinical practice.
Responsible for developing and building uponeffective working relationships with external key stakeholders.

Clinical Standards
The post holder will provide support, advice andleadership.

The postholder will identify, evidence and report instanceswhere KPIs are not being met.
Responsible for day centre administrative resources
Governance
Responsible for coordinating and delivering the end-to-endprocess of the clinical audit.
Ensure that the delivery of palliative care servicesare consistent with policy, strategy and guidance, to include relevantgovernance, quality and operational frameworks.
Support the development and delivery of theGovernance framework for non-clinical aspects of care and service delivery.
Take a leading role in investigating and managingincidents, complaints, and concerns.
Ensure compliance against all clinical standards.Act as the responsible manager for compliance and regulatory standards.
Financial and Planning Responsibility
Responsible for the development and management ofthe Clinical Department budget.
Responsible for embedding a culture of value for moneyand financial awareness.
Responsibility for the maintenance of the clinicalrota and smooth running of the service in conjunction with the Clinical andBusiness Support Leads
Manage services as required to meet contractual,quality and safety expectations.
Take an active role in the Project OversightsCommittee
Business planning and development - stay updated on opportunities, set goals and generate ideas to enhance patient services.
Grants and Trusts
Identify grant opportunities in line with strategicbusiness objectives.
Work with the Finance team and Grants and Legaciesofficer to formulate and cost projectsfor grants applications and contracts.
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate measuresare in place and data/reports are produced accurately, in line with milestonerequirements.
Communication
Ensure effective communication to enhance workingrelationships across the team.
Ensure communication and working relationships areeffective, and that staff are engaged in the decision-making rationale.
Generate and share knowledge and expertise with allmembers of the multi professional team, utilising any new knowledge to feedbackand inform practice.
Committee Responsibility
Manage, attend, and contribute to Service LevelAgreement Meetings with Cardiff and Vale UHB when required.
