    We are recruiting for a Registered Staff Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

    We are looking for committed and enthusiastic nurses to work alongside our CQC rated Outstanding Critical Care Team for an opportunity to enhance and develop your skills within a challenging but positive environment, in our Level 3 Intensive Care Unit.

    This post offers an amazing opportunity for the successful applicant's personal and professional development. You will commence with a 6 week local induction which focuses on the foundations of critical care nursing. The team coordinates individualised support and development based on the National Critical Care Competencies (STEPS) and into academic study.

    All staff at Medway comply the Trust's and the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Board's policies on safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.

    Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge.

    To act as advocate for patients within the area, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.

    To ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines
    Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals
    RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register
    Evidence of continuing professional development

    Knowledge of the NMC Code of professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives
    Experience of co-ordinating a shift
    Is able to administer intravenous drug therapy/ or is willing to work towards this
    Able to assess plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care
    Basic computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Word and Electronic Patient Records
