    About therole:

    As a Senior SoftwareEngineer youll be part of a client team building innovativeproducts. We expect you to be curious passionate driven andenthusiastic. Youll be proficient at problemsolving and craftingscalable resilient and faulttolerant architectures. Youll be aneffective communicator and a team player. Furthermore you and yourteam will move in a fastpaced engineering environment achievingoutstanding results and delivering excitingprojects.

    AboutYou:

    A YLD Software EngineeringConsultant is a highlyskilled developer who exemplifies the higheststandard in software engineering and enjoys sharing their knowledgeand experience with others.

    Youll have theopportunity to build and deliver software within some interestingprojects both in terms of the product and the methodology. We workin an Agile environment (Scrum) with a testfirst mindset (actuallywriting code without tests should be unthinkable). We are also bigadvocates of pair programming and nothing is released until we havea code review.

    Your daytodayresponsibilities will look likethis:

    • Craftingexcellent products As a FullStack Engineer you will be buildingnew features that meet the needs of our clientscustomers.
    • Continuously delivering changes toproducts as our client is moving to a full CI/CDmodel
    • Working closely with your team regularlycollaborating and on engineering initiatives to continually pushyourselves to be better
    • Learning growing andmentoring the engineering team to accelerate their careergrowth andencourage them to progress;
    • Working with theLead to architect design build and deliver highly availablealwayson zero downtime products;
    • Beingresponsible for the production operation and monitoring of productsinline with SLAs;
    • Driving good practices withinyour team making an impact on the wholedepartment;
    • Participating in regular show andtells promoting your work to both your department and the widercompany

    Requirements

    Youllhave the following skills andexperience:

    • Previousexperience as a Frontend Engineer working with React in acommercial environment writing semantic accessible and modularcode;
    • Proven experience as a Backend Engineerdemonstrating proficiency in at least one musthave language such asPython Go etc;
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms(e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and containerisation; technologies(e.g. Docker Kubernetes);
    • Experience indistributed version control systems (e.g.Git);
    • Experience in databases (both relationaland schemaless);
    • A strong focus on continuousintegration and delivery;
    • Substantial testingexperience from code quality through to security customer journeysand accessibility;
    • Building highperformance andscalable applications;
    • Good understanding ofthe design and implementation of RESTful webservices;
    • Experience implementing and buildingGraphQL services;
    • Familiarity with performancemonitoring tools;
    • You can keep a cool head whendebugging productionissues.
