    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Risk Manager to join a dynamic team in the commodities trading sector, specializing in Energy or Metals.

    The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing credit risk exposure across our commodity trading activities, ensuring adherence to risk policies and procedures, and supporting the achievement of business objectives.


    Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement credit risk management strategies and policies for the commodity trading business, with a focus on commodity sectors.

    Assess and analyse credit risk exposure associated with counterparties, transactions, and portfolios, utilizing quantitative models, credit ratings, and industry analysis.

    Conduct thorough credit evaluations of new counterparties and trading opportunities, including financial statement analysis, industry research, and collateral assessment.

    Monitor and manage credit limits and exposures, ensuring compliance with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

    Collaborate with trading desks, sales teams, and other stakeholders to evaluate and mitigate credit risk in trading transactions and structured deals.

    Review and negotiate credit terms in trading contracts, including master agreements, credit support annexes, and collateral arrangements.

    Develop and maintain relationships with counterparties, credit rating agencies, and industry peers to stay abreast of market trends and credit developments.

    Perform regular credit reviews and assessments of existing counterparties and portfolios, identifying potential risks and opportunities for risk mitigation.

    Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports and presentations for senior management and risk committees, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations.

    Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the credit risk function.

    Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to credit risk management in commodity trading, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and guidelines.


    Your Profile:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field from a reputable university or institution.

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management within the commodity trading industry, with a focus on Energy, Metals or other commodity sectors.

    Strong understanding of commodity markets, trading instruments, and risk management techniques, with specific expertise in credit risk assessment.

    Proven track record of conducting credit analysis and evaluating counterparties in the commodities space, including knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit metrics, and industry dynamics.

    Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and other financial modelling tools.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to credit risk management challenges.
