    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • The Financial Controller oversees financial accounting and reporting, financial control in the Dangote London office
    • Responsibilities include corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, internal control policies development
    • Oversees finance and accounts department operations

    Tasks to be Carried Out

    • Supervise company accounts and investments
    • Prepare budget and monthly management accounts
    • Maintain accurate financial records for results analysis and forecasts
    • Produce monthly P&L accounts to monitor profitability
    • Manage bank accounts and cash flow
    • Ensure timely ledger posting and monthly reviews
    • Properly record, file, and report all financial transactions
    • Ensure timely payment of freight after verification
    • Verify costs on PFI and invoices to prevent exchange losses
    • Prepare financial accounts for Audit, ensure regulatory compliance
    • Supervise office attendance, timekeeping, and holiday records
    • Validate inter-company balances monthly
    • Facilitate Salary payments
    • Establish systems for accounting purchases, sales, and shipping of spare parts and equipment

    Requirements

    • Minimum 10 years experience in related industry, UK accounting experience is necessary
    • Experience in setting up accounting systems for purchases, sales, spare parts, and equipment
    • Experience in managing shipping documentations under LCs
    • Certified Accountant, Cost and Management Accountant preferred
    • Proficient in Sage accounting software, familiar with international Import Export Business and Trade Finance
    • Good understanding of Corporate Finance, Governance practices, and industry trends

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent
    • Strong communication, negotiation, planning, and organizational skills
    • Effective managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills
    • Customer service oriented
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, SAGE accounting or ERP
    • Familiar with Financial Management and Corporate Governance Legislation and Policies
    • Product knowledge and financial acumen
    • Detail-oriented with high personal integrity

    Note

    • Experience in sourcing and shipping spare parts is mandatory
    • Experience in international Import Export Business and Trade Finance is a must
    • UK accounting experience is a prerequisite
    • Applicants should reside in the UK or possess a UK work permit if applying from abroad
