    In support of Kent State University's vision and core values, the mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to enhance the psychological health and development of Kent State University students. Through the provision of an array of culturally competent and evidence-based psychological services, consultation with faculty and staff, and programming, CAPS staff contribute to the attainment of student educational objectives, encourage student engagement in the university community, and support students' personal and professional success

    Based on our mission and core values, we are seeking a team member who is capable of and committed to the following:

    As a culturally-responsive member of a highly supportive and collaborative team, the Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator provides oversight for theassessment and evaluationprogram, as well as delivers quality direct clinical services, supervises agency trainees, and delivers outreach programming to the campus community. This position reports to the Associate Director.

    Scope of Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator provides oversight for assessment program activities. This coordinator maintains primary responsibility for the administration, scoring, and interpretation ofpsychological assessments at CAPS, including intellectual, behavioral, and personalitymeasures. They will oversee implementation of Routine Outcome Measurements (ROMs) and client satisfaction surveys. In addition, this coordinator offers training and clinical supervision for agency trainees in assessment, ROMs, as well as professional development for staff in these areas.

    Examples of Duties:

    Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

    Provides leadership for assessment programs including: mission, vision, policies, and procedures.

    Ensures that the assessment program fits within the overall scope and mission of CAPS, Student Affairs, and Kent State University.

    Establishes assessment policies and procedures consistent with ethical guidelines, best practices, and applicable state and federal statutes.

    Creates, schedules, and monitors assessment services (administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological tests), develop and monitor ROMs and client satisfaction surveys.

    Provides timely reports related to utilization, outcomes, and other variables for assessment, ROMs and satisfaction surveys.

    Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives related to assessment and evaluation services.

    Ensures efficient, high-quality service and evaluation for the assessment and evaluation program.

    Provides consultation/supervision to CAPS staff and trainees regarding assessment and evaluation services.

    Ensures that assessment and ROMs measures delivered to students are culturally appropriate and up-to-date.

    Collaborates in assessment services research, if applicable.

    Develops and maintains tools to assist CAPS staff and trainees in providing assessment services.

    Works within a comprehensive communication strategy to promote staff input, participation, and buy-in for CAPS assessment activities.

    Seeks increased awareness, knowledge, and skills that facilitate culturally informed interventions.

    Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

    Facilitate both face-to-face and tele mental health services as indicated.

    Participate in the provision of mental health triage services.

    Conduct intake interviews, psycho-diagnostic assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment plan formulation.

    Provide brief individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy to students with a broad spectrum of psychological, academic, and interpersonal concerns.

    Respond to high-risk clinical situations.

    Provide crisis intervention and emergency services to the university community.

    Administer ROMs and psychological assessment, including intellectual, behavioral, and personality, as indicated by training and discipline licensure.

    Provide collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team of mental health and primary care providers at University Health Services.

    Conduct mental health and preventative outreach programming to educate students and the university community. Priority will be placed on those activities that raise mental health awareness, decrease stigma, increase help-seeking behavior, and prevent suicide.

    Offer supervision and seminars to CAPS trainees in accordance with training policies and procedures.

    Provide consultation to university students and their families, faculty and staff, and other stakeholders.

    Complete clinical documentation according to CAPS policies and procedures.

    Prepare for outreach activities.

    Complete report writing.

    Prepare for supervision activities.

    Participate in professional development and continuing education activities.

    Follow agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, and HIPAA.

    Attend CAPS staff, clinical team, and committee meetings.

    Participate in ongoing staff conversations about the ways marginalization, discrimination, and oppression impact individuals and systems.

    Take an active role in the continuous improvement of CAPS processes and systems.

    Participate in Student Affairs and university-wide committees.

    As budget allows, represent CAPS on the Kent State campus, in the State of Ohio, and nationally.

    Perform other related duties as required.

    Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Ph.D. or Psy.D. and internship from an APA-accredited program. Two years of experience in a clinical setting. Must be able to work non-traditional hours.

    License/Certification:

    Licensure in the State of Ohio as a psychologist or Ohio license eligibility.

    Knowledge Of:

    Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
    Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

    Skill In:

    Clinical counseling
    Verbal, written, and interpersonal communications
    Personal computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)

    Ability To:

    Design and implement psychological assessment, ROMs, client surveys and a variety of psycho-educational programs.
    Work nontraditional hours as required, including evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

    Experience working in a university counseling center.Experience counseling college and/or high school-aged populations. Experience with electronic medical records. Experience and capability to work as part of a highly cohesive and multidisciplinary team in a university counseling center and with professionals in other campus units. Effective interpersonal skills that facilitate organizational health. A commitment to self-awareness and desire for growth related to the ways marginalization, discrimination, and oppression impact individuals and systems.

    Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

    Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. May work varied hours to include evenings and weekends during peak periods; may require occasional travel on and off-campus.

    Working Schedule:

    Non-traditional hours as needed.
