    Based in the Walkie Talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street, our office is based on the 19th floor, providing fantastic views across London.

    Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform account analysis, alongside more experienced members of the team, according to underwriting guidelines which is to include thorough review of underwriting application/submission, research via on-line services, reviewing requested terms and conditions including underlying policy forms when issuing on a follow-form basis, liaising with other Company departments to establish full understanding of risk exposures and completion of underwriting worksheetAuthorising of quotes, binders and invoices in accordance with own authority, department underwriting strategy and company guidelinesCorrespond with brokers with respect to outstanding information pre and post bindingProcess allocated renewals, endorsements and new business within underwriting guidelinesMaintain underwriting files in an orderly manner, in accordance with underwriting guidelines and the departments prescribed filing structureDevelop business in London and other non-US markets and service submission flowTake responsibility for driving growth with key broking partnersDevelop new target sectors and distribution channels Present underwriting appetite to brokers, clients & reinsurers.

    Help prepare for and attend the increased number of client meetings that come from increased policy countAssist with the frequent broker requests to update suites of wordingsAttend client/broker meetings, lunches, dinners and other social outings as applicableAssist development of junior members of the teamActively engage and seek out training opportunities to further develop underwriting expertise and support business performance Other duties as maybe assigned Person Specification

    • Ideally would hold a professional Insurance designation or at least be working towards such
    • Experience between 3 and 5 years in the London FI Market
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of market policy and endorsement wordings
    • Must be articulate and personable as there will be significant dealings with clients and brokers including attendance and presentations at meetings
    • Basic marketing, negotiation and presentation skills but with a clear aptitude to develop such
    • Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize work
