ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Factory departments walk around each morning to check for any Production GMP/ FB/
Hygiene /Quality issues.
• Daily meeting with QAs and deal with any issues.
• Check daily start up records and report any issues to engineering department
• Validate & sign off QA documentation related to CCPs daily
• Complete monthly QMS internal audits/ ensure departmental audits are completed as
per schedule
• Preparing/ supporting in leading customer visits and audits, including EHO, customer
and BRCGS audits.
• Lead and investigate quarantine \ concession materials
• Working with the cross functional teams to ensure full compliance with all Companyand customer requirements including BRC.
• Support early management of NPD (new Product Development), Equipment and
Packaging projects.
• Provide technical input into product trials and launches as required.
• Play important role in HACCP team, ensuring regular reviews, maintenance of systems
and implementations into the Business
• Ensure the correct level of Technical QA cover is in place to facilitate unannounced
visits or audits.
• Maintain product sampling systems and review of product micro, organoleptic and
analytical work
• Handle any issues that arise on a daily basis with the factory, hygiene issues, quality
issues etc.,
• Lead investigations into customer complaints and queries, investigate customer
complaints and complete all relevant paperwork
• Check, sign and issue specifications into departments as and when required
• Update and maintain start up checks and hygiene sign off sheets for all departments
and keep up to date with changes
• Update paperwork as required for all departments
• Attend all NPD product trials in factory preparing all necessary paperwork needed for
each product.
• Attend daily Technical and production meetings
• Liaise with QAs to conduct monthly traceability exercises including mass balance
according to schedule
• Attend weekly taste panels – Resolve issues raised from taste panels while liaising with
production teams.
• Technical input into site projects and developments
• Monitor standards of factory hygiene and manufacturing standards.
• Support in leading third party and customer audits i.e.: BRC. Preparing and
coordinating corrective action. Close out where applicable (including Root Cause
Analysis)
• Lead pest control compliance for relevant area of the business. Responsibility of pest
control for site ensuring actions raised from visit reports are closed out within time
scale while working with cross-functional teams i.e. engineering and manufacturing
teams.
• Lead and investigate audit \ visit, sensory, micro and chemical non- conformances.
• Organising product samples for micro, organoleptic on a daily basis.
• Lead and organise product samples for annual shelf-life validation and nutritional
validation tests according to schedule along with pre-listings for Lidl.
• Monitor incoming raw material issues and raise NCs where relevant with suppliers to
resolve the issues. If required concessions being raised and communicate with relevant
department's i.e. supply chain and operations teams.
• Manage QA teams accordingly to ensure a high standard of operation and adherence to
standards is continuously achieved;
• Maintain and manage the calibration and Pest Control systems;
• Manage and analyse results achieved from Microbiological and report on trends;
• Conduct return to work interviews and demonstrate adherence to the Company
Discipline and Grievance Policies;
• Analyse training requirements in conjunction with Factory Managers;
• Carry out any other duties within your remit as directed;
• Attendance at meetings and reviews where necessary;
• Adopt 'best practice' in accordance with Company processes and procedures and
adhere to Company policy guidelines
• Maintain good housekeeping, comply with and promote Company Food Hygiene and
Environmental policies and ensure the Company operates in compliance with relevant
legislation;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
MANDATORY
• Substantial experience in similar role
• Recognised qualification in Quality/Technical or Auditing
• Thorough knowledge of British Retail Consortium (BRC) working practices
• Level 3 Food Hygiene
• Level 3 HACCP
• Confident IT user
