This is a replacement post due to previous postholder moving to another team within the Durham Tees Valley care group.
Durham Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services meet the mental and behaviour needs of children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

The Redcar and Cleveland Children and Young Peoples Service is based in The Ridings in Redcar, the major population centre of the unitary authority area of Redcar and Cleveland, formerly part of the County of Cleveland.
The premises are located next to Foxrush, the base for Adult Mental Health services in Redcar, which allows for good working links with colleagues.
The population of the local authority area is approx. 136,000, with approximately 25% of them being under the age of 18.The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment and management of mental and/or behavioural needs of children and young people presenting with mental disorder and requiring assessment for neurodevelopmental needs.
There are opportunities to become a GMC registered trainer e.g. clinical and / or educational supervisor.The post holder is expected to offer mental health assessment, psychiatric opinions, diagnosis and holistic care plans for patients up to the age of 18, referred to them in hours and when on call.
The Children and Young Peoples Service uses the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and has a relevant all-age Trust policy.
The post holder would have a mixture of Standard Care and CPA patients on their caseload, typically those who require CPA require a more intensive and more senior level of staff involvement.
Clinical work would be expected to be carried out predominantly within the clinical base at The Ridings in Redcar (or the new site after moving) but may occur within other settings for example a young person may have strong feelings about being seen in an alternative community setting or it may be more appropriate to see a young person at their school.
We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of 320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby.
We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire.
We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public.
The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.
