    Job summary

    Central London Community Health NHS Trust (CLCH) is seeking to recruit a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in Brent This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join our safeguarding team.

    We are looking appoint a practitioner with experience of working with complex cases and who has a good understanding of the legal duties to protect Children under the Children Act (1989, 2004) and of the statutory role the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children

    The post holder will be supported to lead and influence the safeguarding children's agenda in Brent. The ability to work independently is essential and post holder may at times be required to travel to Trust venues in the delivery of their work and role. The post holder will manage the Safeguarding Children Advisors in Brent. The post holder will have access to clinical and safeguarding supervision and training, to support their personal and professional development.

    Main duties of the job

    The Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children (Named Nurse) has a key role within Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) to ensure staff deliver safe and effective care that complies with the: Human Rights Act (1998), Children Act (1989, In addition, the post holder will align their work to the 'think family' principles and guidance.

    The Named Nurse will be required to work independently to provide specialist safeguarding advice, support, and leadership to managers and practitioners within the Trust, which may include giving guidance on raising and quality-assuring safeguarding alerts, escalating safeguarding concerns, and following the CLCH safeguarding policies and processes.

    They will support the Associate Director of Safeguarding and the Head of Safeguarding in assuring the care is delivered in line with statutory processes. The role includes supporting the delivery of safeguarding assurance work in CLCH as outlined in the safeguarding work plan and performance monitoring and the management of data collection systems relating to safeguarding children services and multiagency decision-making.

    To lead and influence the safeguarding children agenda across the health and social care economy in Brent and escalate concerns where necessary To contribute to the planning and strategic organisation of safeguarding services both within CLCH and with multiagency safeguarding partnerships. To advocate on behalf of individual and communities whose voice is not always heard to ensure their rights are considered, needs met and our services work in partnership to achieve best outcomes. To deliver restorative safeguarding supervision to support safe and effective practice
