    Overview of the role

    To join a team of engineers working on a defined work programme based around Operator Environment (Cab) design and development, including new product introduction, warranty issue resolution and product improvements.

    You will be part of a team delivering varied work programmes from concept to delivery – from specification, through analysis, concept design, testing and development, to engineering sign-off.

    You will also assist to support in-house quality, manufacturing, and service teams in resolving complex technical issues arising because of warranty and / or issues that lead to engineering change as the permanent solution. You will be working to design and develop a robust product of world class quality.

    About your role

    • Innovative design solution generation for New Product Introductions, Service fixes and product improvements, utilising simultaneous engineering (design for assembly manufacture and service).
    • Design detailing, BOM compilation and drawing release.
    • Prototype build support and testing
    • Ownership and delivery of projects
    • Coordinating with extended JCB Group engineering resources as required.
    • Failure investigation and analysis, including introduction of containment and countermeasures.
    • Identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
    • Formal design documentation creation, including DFMEA, DVPSOR (Test Reports) and technical extension reports.

    About you

    • Degree qualified in a mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
    • Experienced in the design of structural fabrications and preferably plastic mouldings.
    • 3D CAD system operation experience (NX preferable)
    • A sound grasp of engineering principles.
    • Enthusiastic, self-starting and with the ability to make things happen.
