    About the role

    The successful candidate will be expected primarily to provide teaching, supervision and associated administrative will involve teaching three modules over the course of the academic year. The modules expected to be taught will include:
    • Ethics and Society
    • Why Democracy? And one of the following:
    • Metaethics
    • Philosophy of Altruism
    • Philosophy & Ethics of Climate Change
    • Kant, or Marxism, or Post-Kantian Continental Philosophy As well as giving lectures and seminars, the post holder will be expected to set and mark essay topics or examinations, to supervise graduate teaching assistants, to fulfil personal tutoring responsibilities and to carry out an enabling role at EISPS. It is expected that the successful candidate will actively follow UCL policies, including Equal Opportunities, and maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health and Safety Regulations. The post holder may be asked to carry out other specific tasks and duties as required by the two Heads of Department.

    About you

    Applicants will hold or be soon to be awarded a PhD in Philosophy, provide evidence of specialism in Political Philosophy, have experience in teaching, researching or similar employment in higher education. Interviews are expected to be held in late May/early June. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to prepare a short presentation.
